What the test is
Before you can start your ARCA Menards Series career, you need a NASCAR license for Daytona International Speedway. The test is a Peak Performance coaching session with Jamie McMurray, and it focuses on drafting.
How to pass
Choose how to start
You can ride along with Jamie for a lap to see the line, or jump straight into the cockpit. The goal is the same either way.
Catch the car ahead
Close the gap to the car in front and tuck in behind it to use the draft.
Meet the minimum lap time
Keep following that car and hold a lap time at or under the target. The license result depends on the lap time.
Review your data
After you pass, you can review your data to see where you were fast and where to improve.
What happens next
Dale Earnhardt Jr. lines up a season-long sponsorship from Jerky Boys, and you go straight into your first ARCA race, the General Tire 200 at Daytona.
